Yes bro. I dose shrimp tonic. I thought that is good for Crs. Should I stop it?

perhaps you could provide more information like the temperature and volume of your tank?and N03 cannot be 0..should be in the area of about 10-20. Is ammonia 0 too?
it took me 6 months plus to successfully keep my CRS alive and breeding. spent almost 500 on CRS alone in the 1st 6 month. not willing to give up, i do a final try on a 3 feet tank.
don't give up so soon.
and ya, please tell us the temperature you rearing your CRS, what grades are they and if possible a tank photo.
-good luck-

temperature set with chiller 24,
I place peat and ph goes down to 6 and crs stop dying. hopefully that is the case

Hello Edi,
If you still are looking for a TDS tester, try and get a TDS test pen instead. Saves you the hassle of using colour charts just to get an approximate reading. Hanna and I think TransInstruments both have TDS pens. They probably need calibrating every now and then but if you're into shrimps, perhaps they would be a good investment.
Alternatively, get yourself a test pen that measures pH, TDS, temperature, EC (electrical conductivity). Usually saves you more money than buying each test pen individually.

I thought a TDS meter is to measure the quality of water coming out of a ro/di filter? Why would it be used for a crs tank?
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.

Dear all,
Many thanks for all the inputs, Moderator many thanks for the advice. my last add on to my shrimp was bacter ball. Next day shrimp start to dying few pieces.
I suck out the water and bacter ball, replace water and put some peat. condition back to normal. now under monitoring so far it is so good.
Hope it stay, lesson i learn when the CRS stay in good hand don't add extra stuff. it's good intension end up killing them.
I used to dose shrimp tonic once a week and some mineral rock powder, both product from mosura, not to forget mineral plus.
I also notice dosing too much mineral plus will kill my shrimp too.
in short when they shrimp happy, leave it as it is
