question on moss

In low light they really grow slow, and moss do grow in highlighting also. Below picture is where they grow in highlighting.

Can I grow java moss by tying them on the coconut shell of those fresh coconut for drink that sell by the road side stall?

you can tie to anything at it will still grow, provide good water and light condition
