Advice from boss Felix
Flame moss also works in this temperature (27-29)
I have no issue with it and it's growing well in my tank.
Likely all moss are easy to grow, it will take sometime, it might turn brown but it will recover after sometime(months?) It's took me about 2 month to recover my flame moss. hope this help..

I have a 2ft moss/ferns tank running under exactly the same condition, i.e. 2ft 18W FL lightset, no co2, no fert, lapis gravel, AC fan 24/7, temp 24.5-26, 14hrs of light. Moss and shrimps are happy. No algae too . Most 2ft FL lightsets use 15W FL, but you can get a 18W FL type from Seaview. I prefer 18W as the tube covers the entire 2ft length and is readily available and cheap ( (e.g. philips ecotone $1.99 from NTUC) to replace.

Sorry, what I meant is most 2FT FL lightset today are using 15W...and 18W is rare these days...

ok if you put it that way
so far my java moss has grown without additional lights, fert, gravel or cooler. the cherry shrimps all hide in it. java moss is a good start for easy maintenance. mine just survive on normal indoor conditions.
Growth would be achieveable with 7W, but expect it to be really slow. Growth will be more stringy as well.
The plus point is that it won't heat up the water too much.
Doubling the amount of light should be more practical.
Mosses appreciate clean and cool water too!

7W for 2ft that extremely low , cant comment much, I never try this low before
using 24v x2 for my 2ft tank now, remove from my other tank

48w should be fine for 2ft, this should enable your to plant most of the average or less lighting plant

In low light they really grow slow, and moss do grow in highlighting also. Below picture is where they grow in highlighting.

I've using a 5w for a 25cm low tech tank, those tall slim type...and christmas moss are growing like crazy. Only been dosing K and excel at times.
