zonkkie - thank you for the update, where in clementi may i know.
fireblade - that would be another project when my tall plants get out of hand. meanwhile, finding rocks the right shape and size is hard to come by.
images of the hills, plains and sky i see in my mind are stirring the dormant itch again.......must resist, must resist!!

went to Midori the other day, they sell quite a number of big rocks! not sure about the price though..
also Rainbow at serrangoon also have nice and huge rocks! go and take a look ..
happy shopping!!
where at clementi is midori? appreciate an address please. i do not need huge rocks, i only need small to medium sizes ones.
a careful collection and arrangement of these will make a small aquarium look 'big' a trick i learned from photography and from the grand master amano himself.
thanks for the tip! cheers!![]()

I like the hills. Good set up and thanks for sharing.
Greatsetup bro, your left and right side does'nt much though. But overall Layout is ok, especially your mini pelia on the left side. I love it! I admire your patience too, 7 months is equivalent too 7x rescape for me.

to emulate nature is to strive to learn. 2 sides of a river are never entirely the same. seeing your dream is to lay your stones now.
thank you for your kind comments....u flatter me....hahaha. this pelliascape needs another 4-5 months more to go before it matures....stay tuned for updates.

Bro, you must have patience of a saint.
If you switch to lower height background plants, you might compare your scape with natural scenery. That will be fantastic.

yup yup!! amazing! i covered with netting the day before and with no mp protruding the netting theres still pearling from it!
bro, mind sending me your pics of your early stage pelia? wanted to learn more on how you tie them onto your rocks.. i'll pm you my email =)
You need to trim the hairgrass often to get them grow optimally and it will grow more compact to each other.![]()

oh man i'm very envious of your mini pelia.. could you share the conditions that make them grow so well? I am keeping a small clump of mini pelia in my chilled shrimp tank but they don't seem to grow well, showing signs of browning. If i put it in my other planted tank with CO2 but not chilled, they also brown..![]()
mini pellia needs good lighting and cold water, anything from 25C to 27C is fine. my lights are staggered timing, 08-12 and 16-2100 hrs. CO2 5bps. for a matured tank of 6 mths or more. foodgrade CO2 dissolves better in cooler temperatures whereas higher temp will cause it to expand and go to the surface very fast without dissolving much, thus wasting precious CO2.
fert dosage is seachem iron 5ml/wk and tetraplant florapride 5ml/wk. seachem potassium 5ml/2 wk. water change is 3x a wk 20%. 2x/mth is normal tap water with 20ml nutrafin water conditioner. 2x/mth is diamond water from my drinking water filteration system.
jap hairgrass are very slow growing. trimming only recommended only when matured, my personal experience. not sure about others.
normal hairgrass can be trimmed every 2 wks initially for very fast growth. my ex 5' and 6' tanks was all hairgrass. trimming was a chore then, back breaking chore. without trimming they grew to almost 7-8cm within 2 months! again my personal experience.
main secret is still good light, trace elements, iron and good flow rate.
cheers!

Wish I could have something like that. But the "boss" won't allow big tanks anymore. So I just have to appreciate what I see here.
