    My tank is 3ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft. Currently using 4x36W PL lights - new.

    Tubes are arranged this way:

    TOP VIEW of TANK:
    -------------------------------------------------------

    |xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx|

    |xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx|

    -------------------------------------------------------

    xxx - PL tube

I'm not sure if my lights are sufficient for my tank. It appears rather dim and although my riccia is growing, it doesn't even bubble at all.

Could it be the coverage is too small? Do I need to get another unit so that I can add one more row (2 tubes) of PL lights? My water is slightly yellowish, could that be another possible reason for the dim appearance? Thanks for reading..

Lighting is definitely enough. Do you have co2 injection?

Your lighting looks fine, u already have > 3W/gallon. Maybe you shld provide more information like color temp of PL, CO2, kH and pH so that others can advise.

water yellowish could be leaching of tannic acid from the driftwood if u have one.
