Is hair grass easy to grow?

With the led strips

Growth after 6 weeks..
I have started to dim down the strips to 70%, after the weekend blackout to try get rid of the hair algae. At this reduced intensity, the plants are still bubbling so I'll monitor further.

Nice scape you have. Very zen like! I never been successful with hair grass....seems like they grow very slow in my tank!

nice and pleasing to the eyes...

And it's also full of green thread algae within
It's only saving grace is that it serves as a great sanctuary for the shrimplets

Nice setup you have![]()

Did you manage to clear the hair algae? If so, how did you do it?

Throw in a branch of yamato shrimp to attack the hair algae

try red nose shrimp and SAE!

Will try Amano and red nose next.
Two sae were in the tank since beginning, and don't seems to be effective against the hair algae at all even I feed the cardinal sparingly and make sure the sae doesn't get the fish food.
