How do I get rid of brown Algie and How did I get it?

I'm not sure which brown algae are you talking about, photo will help. At this point I will assume the Diatome algae that normally stick on the glass. It is easy to clean, you can scape it manually or you can put couple of Otocinclus species.

By the way is it happen that you pH is low? how big is your tank and how many watt is your light?
