UV filter

Hi,

Anyone bought the UV light filter before from NA?

The one that Chan used to attached to the canister filter before it flow back to the tank.

Heard that it helps to kills algae and snails. Maintain stable Ph level. Dun know whether true or not. But Chan is using quite effectively.

Anybody who uses before, can advice?

hello bro

i have 5x2x2 using UV light filter from NA i on it 24 hour
it dont kill snail but in term of stable Ph level i dont think so
in term of stable the Ph level , soft water & kill algae i'am using bioplast black water
becos i on my light about 16-18 hour a day []

UV filter is for killing microscopic organisms in the water.

eg: some pathogens/viruses + green water algae.

removing green water is very well documented, go search these boards, some people show their entire progress of before and after with a uv filter..

You switched on your lights for 16-18 hours a day. What is the wattage of your lights? Heard that your tank houses a beautiful arowana .

talk abt UV filter, can i use a UV FL tube, try to make it seal-in waterproof inside a PVC pipe? That way, it's alot cheaper than a UV filter.

Does anyone know how much a UV light cost ? I am thinking of using one for my outdoor pond of about 400 liters.

UV is electrical device, unless you know what you're doing, DIY'ing might end up electrocuting you and your fish.

furthermore whether the PL UV tubes are of sufficient intensity and in the correct wavelength is unknown.

UV devices cost under $150 typically. china brands even cheaper

I believe atman has manufactured a vortex style one.

Hmmmm...........Seem to me that there is not much benefit in using an UV filter. Morever this thing does not come cheap.
