    hi
just started a 2ft planted with mostly ferns n moss.
not using base fert n co2 so using plants that don't require them.
tank has a pair of young adult discus, 2 male apistos and 1 female apisto.
problem is that moss getting bba.
is it safe to add in shrimps to combat bba n algae?
will add in sae n otos (maybe cory too) but would really like to have shrimps (recommend?)
    thanks
    Cheers,
    Melvin Lim

your shrimps are likely to become snacks for your discus. and shrimps will not eat your bba.

try small saes instead. as i understand it, very very few other algae eaters will eat bba.

and you can expect everyone else to ask you to list and test the parameters of your water to find out what nutrient is missing from your tank, because you need to address the root of your problem.

I think the cause of the algae outbreak is due to imbalance.
If u do add liquid fert and without co2 injection that could be the cause of the algae outbreak.
Can u pls provide ur fert regime so other forumer might help.
