If i put these two species together, will the fight? The tank is a 3.5 ft tank. Quite heavily planted. Existing apistos are n Aggazzazi Red pair.... and lone male Trifastiaca. Hiding places are plentiful. Tank mates will be 200-ish neon tetras...several rainbow fish....and a bunch of plecos from different L numbers.

will adding a pair of Caca...or any other species of apisto for that matter be possible?

    Re: Caca vs Agga?

3.5ft sounds sufficient to me. Though you must take note when a pair is starting to breed, the breeding pair might eliminate any threats from fellow apistos.

i dont think they're gonna breed anytime soon....stupid Mr Grumpy (male aga) seems content to be only friends with the female while she on the other hand would turn into a lemmon if she got any more yellow.

Re: Combining Apistogramma cacatuoides and agassizii in a 3.5 ft Planted Tank

bro, mind showing a full tank shot? I am keeping a pair of bitaeniata and cacatuoides in a 3 x 1.5 x 1.5 feet setup. so far its pretty smooth, not much torn and ragged fins. only that the male bit likes to eat caca eggs.

but different fish have different temperaments, just keep a lookout for their aggression levels when you add a new pair in. its a real joy for me to watch the stand offs between the fishes.
