I have a few Java ferns in my 2 feet tank and i noticed that the bottom part of the plant has turned brown whereas the tip has new plantlet and is green in color.

Is it lacking in certain nutrients or lighting?

Old leaves do die off sometime, just cut them away. How is your setup ?

It's been in the tank for about 6 months. only recently i noticed that the plantlets at the tip are green but below they are all turning brown. my anubia nana are fine.

not sure if this is due to water chemistry or lack of nutrients, or lighting.

I am using a fan to cool the water in my 2ft tank and due to evaporation, i normally top up the water by about 1 to 2 litres everyday, without dechlorination.

hi there. what you could do is to cut off the bigger leaves where they have hole, abit brown etc. this is what i usually do. then dump into the tank. after they settle, new leaves will sprout
