    Maybe i am a weirdo.
I am thinking on growing those green algae that grow on the glass of the tank or on the driftwood in the tank to feed my oto and shrimp in my tank.
Do anyone of you know how to grow them?

I'm assuming you are talking about green spot algae, if so, shrimps and otos does not eat green spot algae

Put the tank outside your house in direct sunlight and you will get those stubborn stain of green algae on the wall of the tank.

Re: How to grow green aglea?

Well... I was away for two weeks before. I left the light on on my 1 feet tank, and when I'm back, the glass of the tank and the driftwood in it (plus the air pump filter) are covered by the green aglea. I totally clean the tank and do a 100% water change and rescaping for the tank. But, I just put the driftwood with the green aglea into my two feet tank which i keep my oto and cherry shrimps. This is like three days ago, and now the algae on the driftwood is look like almost gone. I also see all the oto and shrimp resting on the wood. Look like they are munching on the algae.

Thank you magpie and feide. I will try.
I also heard that if using the water from the tank will help the algae grow faster, is it corret?
