Yes they will. Anyway Cherry, Sakura and Fire Red are just the grade of cherry shrimp.
Recently I bought 50pcs Cherry Red Shrimp from some guy online as I though they are the same like my Sakura Red Shrimp. My Sakura is very red and bigger (total 5 of them), the Cherry is smaller and seems to be peachy/orange color.
Since I only have 1 tank, so i have no choice but keep them together. I'm wondering will they cross-breed? If they do will the new generation turn out red?

Yes they will interbreed cos the redness on fire red and sakura is by selective breeding cherry shrimps.
But on the other hand...it depands on the water quality and water temp you are keeping them cos i got sakura which looks like fire red and vice versa after settling in the tank.
Some can accept they interbreed as it will only bring up the quality of Cherries while at the same time, it will also breed down the quality of Sakura. Anyway they are from the same grade of red colour families.
Actually, I still have no clue about sakura and cherry regarding their origin and up keep after all these years..
Thanks for sharing guys.

thanks all for your replies
Although I don't keep much shrimps before, I do enjoy Wood or Singapore Shrimp. Nice, big, fierce looking but very gentle shrimp. I like the way they feed themselves, always busy down there. Lately don't see them around in LFS. =P
I really wonder sometime what was the craze about Cherry and Sakura sometimes but I guess it's passion. So I put some links below which also contains info on Cherry and Sakura cum other shrimps.

Are they cross from Malayan Shrimps?

I have kept sakura with my cherries and never had good sakura from subsequent generation of shrimp. Eventually all my sakura seems to vanish into the cherry population. I think it is better to keep them apart if you have a choice.
I agree, separate and selectively breed to continue better color production.
Can someone comment why LFS only sell female but not male sakura? Actually I have never seen a male sakura in my mix cherry population. I assume the male sakura will have similar redness just smaller or I maybe wrong?
I have notice a similiar pattern here in the US from wholesalers. I think maybe it's an attempt to ensure demand for premium cherry shrimp that they sell. Cherries are prolific and will produce constant. I'm certain a choice males will be produced if crossed with stock of good quality.
I have read from older thread in this forum that male sakura actually looks very similar to male cherry without the distinctive redness. Looks like this could be the reason why they are not sold with female at a premium.
