Just had a thought, In China people have orange bushes in their homes to celebrate the new year and afterwards just toss them out. I think they'd make really nice roots or moss covered trees etc.. Any idea if orange wood is safe to use in the aquarium?
But the guy at the LFS said "they'll be FINE together!"

Put aside that it will rot or poison the fish (just to scare you ), my personal opinion, it should look nicer with the bark.

Thanks for the input Shadow, I'm going to boil a few and hang them on the balcony for a while to dry them through (provided the Mrs. doesn't object too much) and give it a try .

I think it is not suitable to placed those wood into water for long as it will start to rot. Those we use in aquarium are actually mangrove wood which are water resistant.
Anyway, its good to try, but keep a look out for the faunas
