    Hi all,
I have been wanting to set up a very nice vivarium. i have bought silicone and acrylic to partition my tank. i also have rocks, sand and driftwood. I am wondering if it is Ok to put normal soil for the land area and plant normal plants.. Please help me. I just want my rainbow crab and 2 black with red pincer crabs to live happily..

That depends on whether the soil contains additives that will leech into the water column, or affect the crabs adversely. With regards to plants, some can be poisonous to the crabs. Doing a search on Google for what kind of decoration and plants are suitable for your crabs is a better option.

If in doubt, just use normal sand and plastic plants. At least you have less things to worry about.

Alternatively, post this query in the Vivariums section or Invertebrates section, and let the crab keepers answer you directly.
