HC = hemianthus callitrichoides
Actually it is depend on your scape. There will be time where you need to plan HC due to your tank size. Anyway my personal opinion hairgrass is the easiest

Up both hands agree with Shadow.
Good experience to learn how to grow hc. Patience is all what this hobby is about. There might be time of failure but success is a wonderful experience.

To be a Rock & not to Roll..
Strong lighting is needed for any plants to carpet rather than reach for the light.

what does it mean by dry start method for HC?
To be a Rock & not to Roll..
planting HC emersed, meaning without water, just keep substrate moist
What about APP Elatine triandra? Fairly easy too
What about Staurogyne sp. Cristilano? It is bigger but it depends on your scape and tank size I suppose. It is a great low maintenance foreground plant though.
