Hmmm, this could be the red o-ring again?

hmm.. oh man.. that o-ring cost me $22, trying to refrain from using the primer or dismantling it again... guess i'll give it another go and see if thats the problem.. thanks, will update again!

madnugget, add/remove one by one the other accessories.
narrowing down to the source factor, as BFG said it might be that component.
However, i have no experience with this model yet so i'll just wait for your updates.
P.S: how is it with the other repair job ?

highly possible that it is the red o-ring causing the problem.. hope i dont need to buy another one so soon. i readjust it and now the "squishing" sound of the air sounds different. flowrate affected too..
haha the other repair job, still looking for spring. went to look for some electric lighter but didnt see any around. everything is going wrong this year =(

is there any possibilities that it got to do with my impeller? how do we know when to change it? its look fine for me... the flow rate indicator is at the minimum... no clogged and not overloaded...
Impeller very rare got problem. If it makes noise, the impeller is not seated properly. If you cut the hose improperly, chances are the jagged edge might be sucking in air.

hi mods... bad luck really hit me this time.my impeller broke while i was doing testing with my other unit. now its like theres some problem with my top unit. i dismantled the whole thing and ran the filter from a bucket of water. i blocked the output completely and i notice the primer power head jutted up. When i release the output, the power head sank down. can this cause the loss of pressure + result in air leaking into the filter? i've attached some pictures of the power head.
there are 3 screws that supposed to "pull" the power head up. one of the plastic broke, hence one screw cannot "hold" the power head. the other screw i also doubt it had the strength to pull the power head up. i did run a while without the cover+spring to pull the head up and notice the power head sank down..
can this be the root of the problem? i had really exhausted all the methods.. is there any way to fix the screwthread so the screws can pull it up? else last resort is to silicon the whole thing... =(

Madnugget, my advise is to send it to Qianhu for repair. After you've done with the repair, get the inlet side of the Installation Set. Using this, you do not need to use that primer ever again. That's how I dealt with 3 of my 2026. I've given up priming the 2026 due to the tight space in the cabinet previously. Now, if I ever start a planted tank again with the 2026, I would use a combo of Installation Set + Ikea Samla container. The Installation Set will help me in starting the filter while the container will help in collecting water leak when the big o-ring wears off. The Eheim, although known as a work horse brand, also suffers wear and tear issue. I could live with this notion, as long as the canister could last a long time.![]()

thanks BFG.. but is it possible that the primer head sinking down causing the problem? dont wish to spend anymore $ to repair, i rather get some Jebo cannister and use. was thinking of siliconing the whole area..
It might be as it has not fully return to it's original position.
