Snails mass produced and my entire tank has little snails on the glass.

Only problem is I have 300 - 400 shrimplets in the tank.

Thrown in 2 puffer fishes to control the snails but will my shrimplets be the target instead?

thats a lot of shrimps.. any puffers eats shrimps.. best solution for you is to get some assasin snails.. they will do the job effectively..

actually from my experiences, assassin snails also eat shrimps when they are moulting and rather immobile. has anyone experienced that before?

Never seen an assasin snail attack a shrimp, I have them for years. Dwarf Puffer will eat shrimp, even adult ones. They love it!

Yes dwarf puffer will eat shrimps, but my experience is, they will eat snail first and when they run out of snails then eat shrimp. I have two tanks, so when the snails start coming, I would catch the puffer and put back into my shrimp tank. I would immediately know when my snails are gone cause all my shrimps would then gather together in a big group in one area to hide from the puffer. And then I would throw the puffer back to the other tank and the cycle would continue

I had a similiar issue with snails and I had to smash some daily for a couple of months to reduce the population. I didn't have to feed the shrimp because they had escorgot for a while.

I have snail problem as well, they seems to be a endless supply of them.

I will normally feed my shrimps and as the shrimps gather, I sit in front of my tank everyday, catching the snail with a tweeter (Pincer) and squash the snail. Throw them right into the middle of the feeding frenzy of the shrimps and the shrimps snatch and eat the squash snail. They seems to like it as I can see the bigger shrimps grab the squash snail and try to get away from other shrimps who try to get a piece of the snail as well.

Hopefully this "Snail Snack" won't be and ill effect on the shimps.

I also did that killing snails and letting the shrimps eat them... no problems... however puffers will eat shrimps for sure... their standard tail swirl to left swirl to the right then attack... repeat the cycle and attack again... but mini puffer very nice to look at... damn cartoon...
