you can replace with biohome.
you can change half of the rings in order to keep part the established bateria colony.
Hi,
I recently got myself the Eden 501 to be used in my 1 ft cube tank.
I would like to know how often do I need to change the ceramic rings that came with the filter? Can I change them with the BioHome red?
How do I transfer the bacteria to the biohome from the old rings? Should I change half and replace half with the rings? or replace them all at once?
Thanks for your advice.
Michael

where do u guys normally get ceramic rings from? price abt how much ah?
I belong to the category of hobbyists that believes bio media will last forever
But some folks believe that, over time, pores on the media will get clogged and they lose their effectiveness. I do agree with this school of though to a certain extent, but I don't think this is a problem which can't be solve by a good rinse.

Same i almost never clean my filter
Bossteck: Rinse with tank water or tap?
Also how often should filter sponge be cleaned? Mine never seem to be clogged so i don't bother cleaning. Only cleaned onece in 8 months. Also do we need to remove all the brown dirt in the compartments with Biohome etc.?
Thanks. Don't mean to hijack thread
Cheers,
JJ
