I would like to remind everyone that there is a very fine line between repeating a rumour and defamation.

Anyway, I don't think it's fair to paint all civil servants with the same brush.

    This is so interesting...

someone must have thought to bring the Amazon here instead of having to go there..

there are so many foreign creatures in our waters anyway.. not just fish or animals..

might have to give them PR status..

Defamation is the stating of an untruth. I expressed an opinion, an approval of someones opinion at that, based on facts and pre-knowledge. That is very far from defamation!

i don't know how AVA works from within.
But i agree only that if the population far exceeds natural reproduction rates.
Who is it does not matter, but what is being done is more important.

Rather then pointing fingers at hobbyist, did AVA mention will something be done about it?

    Do you guys agree?

It was just a heads up to everyone to be careful what they say here. Please don't take it personally.

No worries, I didn't take it personally, but I wish rather that people would more willingly discuss things on the forums. I understand that we as Singaporeans are more worried of inviting controversy or attention, but it would so us a lot of good.

I saw a documentary about the snakehead in USA and their efforts to eradicate it. I would rather we not go to such length, of course we don't have a multi million dollars gamefishing industry....

guys! that means Singapore reservoirs are small lah !

I agree - it takes alot more stingrays to start breeding. They are not like your average cichlids and barbs. They give birth to puppies. right?

Shaihulud - I enjoy your post. Cheers

    colin & yong,

Small is one thing, but its accumulated neglect and other factors that added up to this.

    Something to brighten things up,
I swear i will never complain to AVA if i see gold rocks being thrown in Singapore reservoirs

I've heard that the zoo was one of the culprit. They flushed out an alarming number of rays from one of their exhibit into the reservoir because the rays were hurting the animals. How true that is, I do not know.
