Overhauled my previous iwagumi tank last Sunday.

Previous landscape was very tedious to maintain as it was filled with too many plants (riccia, dwarf hairgrass, tenellus and glosso). Glosso ended up the whole lawn floated on the surface like a bean sprout.

    Here is my simplest landscape.

    Tank Size: W60xH30xD30
    Lighting: 2 x 36W Philips PL
    Filtration: Fluval 306
    CO2: 1 bubble per sec
    Cooling sys: 1 HDD fan
Base Substrate: 2L ADA PowerSand (Bacter 100, Clear Super, Tourmaline BC, PenacW, PenacA
Middle Substrate: 7L ADA Amazonia II M
Surface Substrate: 2L ADA Amazonia II S (for cosmetic purpose)
Fertilisation: ADA Green Brighty Step 1
    Flora: E.Tenellus, Eleocharis parvula
Fauna: N/A at the moment (Tank not mature yet)

Love your base substrate. How about an oyama background?

    My comment are
    1) The rocks are too small for your tank,
    2) Try put the main rock on the golden section. Means the whole rock arrangement need to shift to the right.
    3) Need more slope

    Shadow,
    1) will try to find more suitable rocks. So far these are the rocks I can find from LFS. They said they import from ADA. Dunno how true is that.
    2) According to Aqua Journal, the golden section not necessary needs to be at the right side. http://www.aquajournal.net/na/iwagumi/introduction.html. Actually I'm following closely the instructions from that page.
    3) I will try to make a steeper slope. Anyway, thickness of the soil for front is 2 inches and back is already 5 inches. Is it too thick already ?

yes not necessary to the right side. Your main rock is too much to the left side. You can measure it, my guess it should be around 1:3 instead of 2:3

    Re: 60L Iwagumi Tank

For my case it does reduce the temperature. Of course it won't be as efficient as the chiller. In normal room temperature, it can reduce the temperature down to 26 celcius. When the weather is hot, the temperature will be around 27 celcius.

Yeah ... the fan is kinda cheap. Around $10 and the power adapter cost about $12. If the fan is cleaned regularly, it can last forever.

Hi, the 'red' colored rock need to be removed. Because it does not seem fit with the rest of the rocks. the texture of the main rock doesn't look right to me. the top part seem to have been sliced off. I am sorry to say that. But this is what i see and feel.
