Another method of using "set square" is to cover the edge on top of the corner tank to prevent fish from jumping out. This was mentioned before by Amano.

Any idea why initially he use set square and final part he use the soil flattener?
Large area flattening with set square and small area touchups with flattener? Must showcase ADA products abit mah![]()
Guys, you can make your own Thermometer Hanging by using "Cable Tie" method. Clean and neat. A picture is worth a thousand words. Of course you can tie better than me.Things to note is get a softer and good bending cable tie like Selley brand which i got it from Home-Fix.

just a question.. will water seep into the cable tie and cause rusting?
most people use cable tie to tie their fern and plant. they are just soft aluminum wire.

Hey guys, I'm curious what you guys use to clean your rocks once the tank has been setup and matured? I assume that despite your best efforts algae will always find a way to end up growing and spoiling the look of your rocks? How do you guys manage this?
An expensive method I thought of was to buy one of those high speed electric toothbrushes. . . . but spending 100+ on a tank maintenance item somehow sounds stupid.
Just lower down your tank water till you see your rock expose etc etc. Can use toothbrush, Seachem excel, Hydrogen Peroxide and apply on the rock, leave it for around 5-15 min and you'll see the difference. If you cant lower down the tank water then switch off your filter or anything that will cause current move, wait for about 5 min, use the above mentioned and work on it. Some algae on the rock will look more natural. IMHO.

think cannot use electric toothbrush... it might get short circuit if put the whole thing in water
