Just now I saw a CRS very weak and about to die. Another CRS is seems "eating" that weak CRS. After about an hour later, the weak CRS pass away as expected. I did try putting shrimp tonic for the past few days so as to hope to try to stop any casualty as much but it seems this expensive tonic don't prove worthwhile at all.

On seeing the weak CRS about to die, I increased the dosage but is not a bit useful as expected.

The question now is that on seeing the weak CRS about to die, is there anyway we can save or prevent it? Is so painful not being able to anything even though you already know its dying soon that why like to seek all experts valuable advice here. Any discussion or suggestions are also welcome and I strongly believe that by sharing of any information, it will definately benefits all shrimps lover a lot.

Seems a little difficult to save them because shrimp "pass out" very quickly. The more you tired to get involve to save it, it will only hasten the process of its passing away unless you know the causes of its sickness - which are still a mystery to many shrimp keepers.

shrimp tonic is to increase their immunity and thus increase their life span, not to save them from dying and they are not elixir.

From my experience, nothing can save them. My dying shrimps will lie on their sides and pass away 2 to 3 days.

So sad. Saw another younger shrimps having the same issue and pass away few hour later. Is it my water got issue?. Mine is a 2ft planted tank. Co2 1bps. Got many CRS in it but casualty 1-2 each day. Now I on the air pump to aerate the water more frequently hoping to solve this issue. Heard that RO water is good for them, would it be possible for me to buy distilled water to top up whenever necessary? I am using chiller so need not top up so often but thinking of setting up a basic tank with moss without co2 running wif fan. Not sure if this set up be better.

some time when this happens , try to let the dying CRS or shirmps get close to the area where more oxygenate area. thats the last thing we can do.

You might want to stop your CO2 totally until you figure out what is wrong with your water parameters. Consider a 50% water change also.
What pH is your tank at?

What temperature are you keeping the tank at? you could try lowering it to 24C - 25C just for now to increase the dissolved oxygen in your tank.

Have you tested for Ammonia and Nitrites recently?

think when a shrimp dies/is dying, other than due to old age...it's time to act quickly to prevent further deaths.

In such a case, i'd do the most basic thing... a water change of 20%... that was what i did last (and thankfully,ONLY) round.

So what was the matter with your shrimp?

Both Ammonia and Nitrites are ok. My tank is set to 24 degree and i am having air pump into the tank already. My PH is 6.8 and i don't dare to change up to 50% as i worried it would caused my other CRS to be wiped out faster.
