    Hi pals,
Recently bought a atman HF - 0400 hof from a bro here. The flowrate could be adjusted to high or low. Just a question in my 1.5ft all shrimp tanks , what flow rate should I put it? Does the shrimps love high or low flow rate?

hmmm.. i'm not sure about that, but my guess is that too high a flow rate is stressful for them. Just imagine them having to cling on to their lives else they get swept away by the current. Also, from what I know is that high flow rate is not very good for growing BB in your canister filter, and shrimps require chemically clean water, so a safer bad would be to keep your flowrate moderate.

Low to moderate is fine. Not high.

Better moderate - not too low or too high. Just like switiching on fan - too low not shiok, to high get blown away....always think of the shimplets too because they are small and fragile unlike the adult shrimps.

I guess they don't really mind as long as they have places to hide even in ur 1.5ft. I use an old partition clip to hold a small peice of acrylic to break the down flow. I still go for max for the filtration. Too high is not good for leafy plants anyways... what I think at least.

I adjust according to tank conditions... for eg, if no shrimplets, max flow rate(best for clean waters), but i do have a piece of drift wood tied with moss to 'cushion' the flow somewhat..

When there are new births and shrimplets are abound, i'd adjust it to moderate so as not to send the babies 'flying'!
