Aye...I supposed the logic is that they rather we look at fishes in tanks than ladies in tanks
So the ventilation holes still didn't improve things much? I'm getting a new cabinet from project tank too and will most probably have to put both chiller and CO2 (its a 10L) outside

I have yet to see a cabinet design that can house an efficiently operating chiller, You should really avoid if, or if aesthetics is of critical importance, consider purpose building a separate cabinet to house the chiller (losing less efficiency.)
Providing optimal airflow is really important for the life of your chiller and your power bills. Really the simplest option is to buy a chiller that fits in your decor, and displaying it proudly where it gets lots of ventilation.
Hahaha, I'm just going to hide it behind the cabinet then...don't think there's any decor that a CL650 can fit!
Maybe a radbox design like the ones we use for watercooling a rig might work?!
Thanks bro!

My LFS has a stand that they designed for the chiller. IT is a 6 foot tank by 2.5 feet deep and 2 feet high. There is a section in the back wall of the tank cut out and sectioned off where the chiller sides in. The compartment is seperated from the rest of the stand by a wall, and the is an air space about 1 2 inches around the chiller at all sides. From looking at the back of the stand you just see the face of the chiller. The pipes are all hidden and go through the seperating wall back under into the other section of the stand. The design is great and what I plan to do as well. The chiller can easly be unplugged and removed for cleaning, etc as it is sitting on a slide out base (using drawer slides). They have it connected through a t connection so they can bypass it when removed in winter etc, and continue to run filtration. The tank is setup as a sump, which is usually more ideal when using such a big tank.

nice DIY~
but its prefer to have the warm air outlet facing the outside, instead of the cabinet. Allow more space for warm air to escape.

looks like adding legs to a snake...
if you put it this way, might as well put it inside your cabinet like what you have did...
There's so much we could recommend but in the end it's up to the owner to take the responsibility. It's after all his equipment and his money and safety is his responsibility. Hope things work out for you Jowenteo. Good luck!

the way you tie moss is very interesting, my first time seeing people do that. using "rubber band" or "cable tie" to tie your moss? i can see the sticker mark on the wood also, must be expensive wood.![]()

actually, I will think of using cable tie and rubber band over super glue. Yaya... stickered wood is expensive wood.... Adrian got a few free pieces from the GC Opening competition.
jowenteo - move your DIY acrylic box 1 ft to the right! You need 1 ft clearance from the back. I know the looks of the tank is very important to you that's why you do Full ADA, Shiny CO2 Cylinder and all but unfortunately, for chiller, very hard to hide. Either you buy a very pretty chiller that does not require hiding or do without chiller.
when you tie a whole bunch of moss, you are suffocating them, they will turn brown, just need few piece will do wonders.![]()

Ok guys ... Really appreciated about the advises all of you given me. But I very tough in convincing my co about the heat issue. Hope you guys understand. I tried my best to pleased both side. Blue33.. Will redo the moss again. I'm using super glue gel just like I used to on my marine coral. I got my branches from gc. Heart pain. But it will be first time last time.

hey bro, nice equipment you got there. I like how your tank rack is so white and zen. But the scape wise still a bit messy in my opinion, maybe when the plants settle in a good trimming would do the trick. Also, I feel the wood placement is slightly unnatural, maybe because in nature you won't see a tree trunk that is thinner on the !base than on the top.. Keep up the work on your acquascape! Seeing all your high end stuff makes me drool..
oh, regarding the base of the wood being thinner than the top, i suggest that maybe you could put stuff around the base to height its thickness at the base. perhaps some moss or rocks around the base will do the trick.![]()
