sold away my Dymax IQ3 and started to scaped this tank last Sunday.
Got all my equipment on Sat... it was a sudden decision to jump into P60 as my CO gave me the green light
went to biotope to get the tank and all the substrate and media and collected the cabinet from project tank . lastly rush over to NA to get the canister filter, chiller and 24w x 4 t5 .

can someone tell me where to get the external thermostat and how to fix into the chiller.
my tank is showing 26 but the chiller keep showing 28. and it keep on running till it reaches the set temp. and the chiller temp will rise quickly and it kick in again .

Looks promising. Always look forward to ADA tanks, got pressure to live up to the tank. So yours will be titled "Road to xxx"? Co2 from NA as well?

On your chiller, if you put it inside the cabinet, there is no ventilation. Usually people will place it outside or cut out the back of the cabinet.

Just when you finally found a way to make the plants in that IQ3 pearl!

Temp monitor can be DIY'ed from Sim Lim Tower bought parts...but will cost quite abit ($70 or more)

Also, your chiller will have very poor efficiency running inside that cabinet...

you need at least 6 inches space behind the chiller to ventilate the warm air off. if this continue, you will end up heating up your cabinet and your chiller will spoil easily.

finally ..... thanks to victor from biotope for helping me refer to blue33 on the guidance to install the temp probe. pm blue33 and he call me immediately to ask me go back slt to exchange the fox panel to the temp probe saving me another 48 bucks ... it happen that blue33 is staying at the same block as my bro .... small world .

manage to drill 2 holes at the side cabinet and put eggcrate to cover up the hole .. will be getting 2 fan two blow air in ... might be drilling another hole on the other side to draw the hot air out . now the chiller is working great ....


guys how long do i have to wait for the water to be crystal clear ... is so cloudy now . just put one bag full of carbon into the canister ...

another good news for today is ....the story goes this way....

on sunday april 4 aroud 4pm my girlfriend dog was lost as her maid left the gate open .. she was sad that night as her dog has been with her for 9 yrs...
so that night we went hunt around the whole bukit timah till 5am
that next day after work, i rush home to print out a pile of notice and we pasted on bus stop and pet shops .
and today ... clementi police ring me up and ask me to tear down all the notice as nea had file a complain..
the next moment , i received a call from a pet shop and she told me my dog was with them for the past 2 days ... rush over and pass it to my girlfriend at her office... she cry ...

the end ..

How did you install the egg crates? Just cut and stuck in? Do they just slide out? I am looking at doing the same for my stand.

Ya. Just cut into a square first and lay over the hole and cut . It should fit nicely. I didn't glue the egg crate so in future I can take out and wash.

Good potential.......The photo's not too sharp but from what I see, the glosso were planted in large clumps? The foreground should be planted more densely, glosso should be separated into smaller clumps or even 2 to3 nodes and planted densely, is that river sand in the centre or pebbles. A well taken shot will do this tank justice.

Dont mention. Still if the chiller can place outside will be better. Just place your hand behind the chiller and you will feel how warm that thing is. Chiller need space to throw out the air.

nice tank bro, but did i see HC in the picture? you intend to grow HC + glosso together? won't glosso outgrow HC?

Hard to visualise HC and glosso together, to keep both tidy, the glosso probably have to move further back near the mid ground... either that or remove 1 of them.

in fact im using them to pratice planting .. it was so difficult ... how can i plant nicely ... really dont have the patinece to plant one by one ....

I would recommend that the chiller be placed outside the cabinet. For efficiency purpose anyway but if you notice the chiller body bulging, be prepared to replace it.

Plus, the chiller outside the tank looks a lot cooler to the average person than the Co2 tank outside. And won't get accidently knocked over. Put the CO2 under the stand and display the expensive chiller. :')
