by dropping a single large pellet of food for SHARING... looks more like FIGHTING to me, really don't want any of them having to risk injuries trying to feed.

Reason for this post... was advised more than once to just drop a large pellet for 'sharing' so as not to overfeed and consequently pollute the water.

Have found that a better way would be to drop in tiny pellets enough for each shrimp... yes, i allow one for each adult shrimp and a couple more for my babies to share(they're much more tolerant and gentle).allowing them an hour to feed, i'd then fish out any excess food bits(invariably non left!).

    my 2 cents!

If you have any yamato/amano shrimps in the tank, dropping a single large pallet is sure to fail unless that pellet is so large that the shrimp cannot make off with it!

I normally do what you did as well...although I can't really count my adults anymore

been dropping one single piece for years! never know any injuries or maybe they are not telling me, haha... also they won't just finish it at one go. after awhile, no CRS is eating it after they are full. so it is smaller CRS turn!
