    they look like the normal p.scalare like to me. You might have a male there.

    I wonder why the autor never put pictures of true altums in his report. However, I do believe that altums and scalare do cross breed in the wild.

    Another way to ID, I think is by the eyes. Altum do not have that red pigment found on scalare eyes.

    can't tell if wild or tank bred..

    The size of the male is abt 4-5 inches. The female is slightly smaller...
