Here's my group of 6 Etroplus Canarensis i got from Nicktc in the early quarter of this year. So far, has grown close to 1/2 an inch or more.

Some algae stains here and there that ive yet to scrub. And i added abit of brownish black gravel to the sand to give it a more natural river look. They are on a diet of frozen brineshrimp, tetrabits, hikari sinking pellets, mysis shrimp and some vegetable food mix like boiled zucchini with powdered spirulina etc. Thought id share .

They can live in both acidic and alkaline water, just avoid the extremes. Ill try to get a close up picture

Great to see that they are doing well in your care.

Is it just me or ... looks like there are some pairing activities.

Would love for that to happen, but read somewhere that it takes 3 years for them to mature. Ohwell....

Heres some updates, to date they've grown another half an inch at least. Did some minor changes too.

Looking good. I've always wanted to try this fish, but I've never had the space. Do you have a full tank shot?

Thanks! Unfortunately im unable to take a FTS as ive placed a hospital tank not too far infront of this setup . Explains why the pictures are all taken from angles.

    Re: Etroplus canarensis

A July update, did some changes to the tank as well as wood placements and introduction of more river rocks to create more swimming space and replicate as close as possible to where they came from.

So far the biggest is at 9cm - 3 inches plus.
