Hi bro and sis i am a newbie and need some guidance for my tank. i have bought a new 2ft tank its 61cmx36cmx46cm.I will try my best as a novice to get it planted by java moss and couple of different live plants. My question is i want to put my 2 goldfish in this tank. i know they eat anything but if my tank is like green with moss and stuff will it be ok to put them in the tank. plz help?

Hi, in my experience, goldfish are remarkably good at eating anything and everything including other smaller fish. My suggestion for your tank would be to have thick leaved plants like anubias if you really want. Moss won't last long as they'll tear bits off and destroy the moss colony.
I have tried to put in various types of plants and in the end, it will end up in my GF's mouth.
Goldfish eat plants. My gf is always bugging me to keep goldfish so when I move out, I will be tempted to try goldfish with plenty of javaferns and nanas.
From my own experience, goldfish eat mosses, all softleaves plants, etc. Anything that fits in their mouth to be honest! And I am not talking about Koi, or the one tail goldfish. I am talking about the nice fancy goldfish.

i kept one before..the tank was bought as a whole set from one of the hobbyist..i am not sure what kind of plants inside..but all cleared by goldfish..then i know goldfish cannot keep inside planted tank..
i know this is abit out of the topic but my feeder goldfish even ate small snail (those extra that i want to throw away).. they're monster! lols.
if you really want to have plants inside i would suggest those plastic ones... its sounds ridiculous but its way better than those moss, ferns as they get eaten easily...hope this helps
Goldfish always like to chew things i think your waterplant can't survive long.Moreover if yr goldfish is big & might injure them as they r clumsy
