    hi all,

currently I have a 1ft cube tank with borewood as back drop, that has been around since chinese new year this year.

Now I want change to a plain 1ft cube tank, is there anyway which i can do this change without cycling? for my current tank, i am using Ehiem 2211.

I still have CRS inside my tank and i wish to change to new ADA soil.

from my personal point of view, total change of ADA soil require you to cycle the tank at least 3-4 weeks ( even using existing tank water and filter ) as the existing BB colony may not be able to handle the ammonia spike. you might need to move your crs to a new location ( pot or pan *just joking*) tank or container with existing tank water and some existing filtration or sort. mean while you cycle your tank with the new ADA soil.
    this is just a suggestion.

then maybe, don't change anything if nothing is spoil. you will risk the life of your CRS. you can maybe look for bro jojoe to rent out his condo for your CRS. hee hee

    Re: Chaning My Tank

haha.. it because one day i found out one of CRS was hidding behind the borewood which was silcon on the tank. i didnt know how did it manage to get it, but it had so much problem getting out. i also couldnt help it cause i cant reach it because of the silcon that sticks the borewood.

after 30 mins, i decided to place my light at the back of my tank and the CRS was very stress and panic and it keep try find space to run out, finally after 15mins it manage to squeeze itself out from a very small place.

i'm just afraid that next time my baby shrimplets will have the same problem. and i have found out that i had already lost 1 PRL crs inside. cause it manage to go in but cant get out.

sad to know about your PRL death, i know how you feel.
maybe you can find someone you can trust to keep your shrimps for you first while you cycle your tank

erm... if u don't mind your tank is ugly.
    catch out the shrimps.
tear off the tree bark from the glass.
    put the shrimps back.
    wait for approval from CO.

that will still be a mess, think the best way is still find someone to keep my CRS for the time being.. seems like no other way out.

    Re: Chaning My Tank

Sell your shrimps and re-do your tank. That save the critical headache about where to relocate your shrimps. I am sure you can slowly buy it back in future once your tank is fully cycled again.
