Travelling to Singapore - Want to get an much of Moss as possible

Dear Friends,
I am travelling to Singapore for a family holiday Mid of May 2010 and would like to meet up with fellow Hobbyists who like me are intrigued by the various Aquatic Mosses available. I want to learn the way you guys grow your Moss as well as the various Nets, Tools available to plant and keep them.

Finally I would love bring back all the possible moss that I could grow either purchased or if someone can give me some.

Can you guide me on where I could get Moss in Singapore. I have heard of Bioplast and also heard that he is a bit on the expensive side, is this true?

Welcome to the forum, do make time to visit Bioplast (officially known as Systems and Control Co.) during your visit here. It is one of the fish shop that carries large variety of mosses.

Yes Bioplast can be a bit pricey for some mosses, especially the rarer or slower growing varieties.

Put Nature Aquarium and C328 (Clementi Florist) on your itinerary too, they have the more commonly available mosses at low prices.

For welcoming me so graciously to the Forum. I have heard of Bioplast and plan to visit them for sure. Would love to meet local enthusiasts as well who like me love keeping and growing Moss and learn from them.

I believe Bioplast is the place to go for moss.

Their moss is of high quality and thus the command in price.

How long do you allocate for this moss buying trip? 1/2 day or full day?

As Bioplast, NA & C328 are in different areas.

Would you also suggest that I do to C328? Is this another outlet or shop for plants?

I am also looking for Sachem Fertilisers would i get these at Bioplast or C328?

For plant and moss, Colourful Aquarium is the best place to go for, some say his price is high but i think his quality is better than others and he has wide variety of moss. His HC is better than others. Next door to Colurful Aquarium is Nature Aquarium, they sell cheap and quality hardware stuff(filter etc) including ferts you looking for, hard to beat his price. These 2 shop should be suffice for your purchase, nearby(about 5km away) is Bioplast where others has mentioned of his wide variety of moss he has, again you pay for quality moss but not every moss he sell btw.

Price wise for moss, around SGD $3-$15

1. Java Moss -colourful, C328, NA should have
2. Singapore Moss - most christmas moss selling here actually is singapore moss, as the name "singapore" moss doesnt sell. You can find wild singapore moss everywhere on the road side.

3. Taiwan Moss - Colouful, C328 may have
4. Stringy Moss - colourful, NA may have
5. Erect Moss - no more selling on the market
6. Star Moss - rarely have, Bioplast may have but not for sale i think
7. HC - colourful, C328 usually have
