sand for planted tank,bro.
sand for planted tank,bro.
it is just an inert sand, no nutrient value. Thus can't be use alone
Thanks people - It sounds like it is just the basic aquarium gravel that is available here in different grades. I dont think the Thai's have a name for it though.
some call it Holland sand if not mistaken
It is normal river sand. "LAPIS" is a brand of river sand that is popular here.
Hello Eddy
thanks for the "Thai name" but I can't read or speak Thai. The language is like Egyptian heiroglyphics to me. I was born & bred In Aust. & moved over here in 2000 - the missus is the translater for me. Nice looking Viv you built to
Shadow & Biotope - thanks for the info, when I kept fish in Aust years ago we called it "golden gravel" due to it's "gold/yellowish" colour. However when I tried to get some last year to keep some Aquatic plants in prior to bringing back to Thailand I could not get it, the stuff the LFS had was VERY course - basically small river pebbles
Thanks
Bob

river pebble normally small and flat, lapis sand is round. I didn't know that lapis is actually brand name , actually never see lapis brand before .
'Lapis' brand sand can ocassionally be seen sold at Nature aquarium and Seaview in brown paper bags similar to those cement bags.
Another commonly sold brand is 'Angel' and is in transparent plastic bags as they do have a range of other types of gravel.
Suckerfish no eat poo poo.
at c328 i saw some sand pack branded angel aquarium gravel. but the uncle all said lapis sand
