are there any fish? it might be detritus, either from the soil or from fish poo. i experience it also, but after a while movements by current, shrimp and fish usually dust it off, once the dust settles it shouldnt be that bad either.
Hi guys, just set up a tank for my girlfriend and used GEX green soil as a substrate for her 10litre tank.
Problem is the leaves of her plant keeps getting covered in "dust", which I suspect is from the GEX soil because of their colour.
Even when she cleans the "dust" off the surface of the plants, it gets back to old one by evening time..
Anyone experiencing this problem too?

Hmmm.. If it is a newly setup tank then it is pretty normal.. Just leave it for awhile till the tank settles down.. By dusting the plants, your girlfriend might have agitated soil slightly too.. That is why you keep getting the dust on your plants.
Thanks guys for the reply. it's not fish poo, sadly, it is the super active corydora in the tank continuosly digging the soil for food, agitating the soil...
Looks like gotta settle with a "dusty" tank
it's because the soil is not settled yet due to adding of water. let it settle down first. Once stable, then dust it off .. initially I also had this problem.
