Here is my full tank shot.

Age: 1 more week to 6 month
Problem: Minor infestation of snails, black brush algae, blue green algae and hair algae due to unavailability of yamato shrimps and SAE in LFS.

    Re: D30xW60xH30cm 45Liters Iwagumi

No chiller. I just use hard disk cooler fan.
I'm using 2x36W PL. According to LFS, it's sufficient. But for me, the growth is slow but the plants are growing healthily.
I'm planning to modify the bulb holder to support 2x55W PL. It's very hard to get non-china 55W PL light.

I think lights ok... people usually use 4x24W... but definitely need chiller in our weather!

    Re: D30xW60xH30cm 45Liters Iwagumi

I just use HDD fan and hang it on the tank. So far the reading is very encouraging.
Temperature reading is between 26 - 28 degrees.
During current hot weather, the temperature so far never exceed 28 degrees.
Cold weather time, normally it will drop until 26 degrees.

Fan is ok during normal weather.
It's quite a good & lush. If non co2 I'll be really impressed.

The substrate play the best part of this set up. No more no less. Very well done bro.

Only advice , as your tank have small volume, i suggest 1/3 water change per week will do.

    Re: D30xW60xH30cm 45Liters Iwagumi

    Yeah. Substrate is very important.
Currently I'm doing 1/2 water change per week because I still can't find yamato shrimp in LFS.
Once I got those shrimps I will change 1/3 of the water.

NA have a lot of Yamato. Do call and ask to confirm if you planning to go get from there just in case everyone start going there to snap up all of it.

Oh, just noticed that you are in M'sia....

    Haha.
This hobby is not very popular in Malaysia yet, especially in Borneo Island. Actually there is only 1 NA shop at my place. So, the supply is very very limited.
