It's one of those picture frame kind, size around 80x40xdepth15cm.
It had very tough to get rid algae growing on the glass & owner claims she try everything but could get rid still! Thus owner needs some suggestion or help on how to convert or improve the tank. Currently, it houses only Crown fish & some live rocks. Not very lively! I try to get a picture from my friend & will post later.
Thank you for your kind attention!

Re: Help Needed on Wall Mounted Marine tank!

The easiest way to remove algae from a marine tank is to run phosphate removers in the filter.

Blackout the tank for 3 days, run PO4 removal media in the filtration and the problem should go away after a few weeks.

That is a really small tank for a marine setup though, its really easy to have problems with these setups, especially if you haven't been keeping up with weekly water changes.

Thanks Fussy! So, she needs to go buy a phosphate remover & po4 is the same thing right? I know its real small for a marine tank & will be very difficult & have advise her to switch to fresh water but i think she still prefer marine. She is hoping that someone can help teach her how to maintain & keep the marine setup.

If there is a lot of algae, can get a copule of turbo snails to help clean the tank. Like what was suggested, switching off the lights will help, also increase the flow in the tank by perhaps buying a wavemaker or add extra power head to increase flwo of water inside tank.

just got wall tank, similar but 5 ft long for 2-3 wks...algae not a problem so far, has got 2 snails and my tank is away from sunlight. But my problem is temperature.., can't install chiller, so now has 2 fan blower just to keep temp at abt 29 degrees. Try corals twice , but died, now only FOWLR.

Yes PO4 is Phosphate. So PO4 remover is what you want!

RowaPhos, Seachem and Two Little Fishies all make popular phosphate removal media.

Regular water change is a must. If it's possible, she might need to modify the setup to include a simple sump but I do not know who can do that. With a sump, she could have a chiller connected to her tank and possibly house a few coral. But if she is serious and wants to have a marine tank, she should go for a tank, sump and cabinet setup plus all the standard equipment like chiller and skimmer. There's nothing simple about marine up keeping, you gotta pay to play.

Paul118, what type of lighting is on your setup?

not many species of coral will survive at 29C and beyond especially with our current heatwave..

Thank you all for your input! My advises to her are the same. However i will advise her further. She is thinking of converting to Fresh water though.
