    Hi Guys

Kept my Lotus for abt a 2 mth already. Recently i saw one of the leave turned transparent and it died a few days later.

Been dosing with Aqua-lush weekly and my water are as such. Ph 7 and KH 4.

    Bio loads : 50 Tetra,8 Yamatoes, 4 Otos and 1 Sae in a 3ft tank. 4 X 36watts X 10 hrs.

Also been battling with spot and hair algae. What nutrients are my tank probably missing?

    Thanks

how about your CO2? How much are you injecting? Any fertiliser in the substrate (base fertiliser or fertiliser stick)? From what i know, lotus usually have a wide root system which means they will take in lots of nutrients from their roots.

Your CO2 is pretty low from your pH and KH measurements...Try to bring the pH down to 6.6 with CO2 gas only and you should see a mark improvement in plant growth. Transparent leaves sounds like low Nitrate...use a test kit to test whether it has bottom out or not..dose if necessary. Spot algae usually increases if the PO4 level has drop to zero...you might also want to test for it.

I think the transparent leave may be due to insufficient K, Potassium. I understand that some tanks tend to be lack of them.

U may get them from Dr Mallick, or some guy named Jason living in CCK area. For hassle free but less economical one, try ADA K product. Can get them from Teo or NA etc.

    Cheers

I have diff experience, but it is on green tiger lotus, I guest green and red are the same.

My green lotus just turn transparent overnight..What I did was cut away 3 old leaves (it has 3 leaves after I cut) and change 50% water for my 50Litre tank.

Did you do similar things. CAn someone explain?
