Makeover for marine tank cabinet

I was given a cabinet by Billy some weeks back and the colour of the cabinet was blue. it does not match my living room theme which is woody.

so I decide to take things into my own hand and change the laminate.

This was how it looks before i started the whole make over process. Time was 1130 hours

By 1700 hours, this is the outcome:

i ordered this tank from Thio for my new venture.

What I did to the cabinet other than changing the laminate was also change the severly corroded hinges.

nice! where did you buy the laminate from? Is it the hard type for cabinetry or the pliable self adhesive type?

What's going into this tank?

Hmmm I've been afraid to use the self adhesive type in the past for fear that it won't be able to hold up to the inevitable water damage...

Keep us posted on how water resistant this type of laminate is?

i know.

That's why i apply spray wood adhesive on both the surface before sticking the laminate on.

Application of Bostik glue.

David, your using Bostik glue.
Its the same one as the one 3M is offering?

I was taught that holding laminate sheets for furniture utilizes shoe glue on both surfaces.

HI Felix, the shoe glue is actally saba gum commonly use in wood work. This bostik glue that i am using, I suspect that it is the same as 3M.
