HELP! Swollen Mouth on Red Eye Tetra

Hi guys,

Really need some help. Had noticed one of my red eye tetras growing a swollen lower lip. It looks like it has got a food pellet stuck in his lower lip, and the swell is pink coloured.

Saw today that another red eye has been infected and its lower lip is starting to swell too.

Does anyone know what disease is this and what the cure may be? Should I remove the infected fish?

Urgent help needed.

Sth probably not enviromental but pathogenic in nature... though can be enviromentally induced. ?Contagious? Any other species of fishes infected? Newly purcahsed tetras?

Hi there, Thanks for your advice. They are not new tetras and one got infected from the original sick fish. I removed the 2 and am watching them closely now. No one seems to be infected so far and I hope it stays thay way.
