How to get ride of snails?

Hi Guys


just started to explore planted tank...somehow...sudden bloom of water snails appear in the tank.....how can i get ride of it?? been killing at least 10 or more daily...

You can try No-Planaria, it is suppose to be for planaria but it was reported kill snail as well

I like to recommend Kuhli Loach. They have wiped out the small ramshorn snails as well as Malayan Trumpet Snails in my tanks.

If you want fast results, I guess others would recommend Puffer Fish.

Bro, how come yours eat snails. i didn't know about this.
i had 2 adult ones last time but they never seem to eat my ramshorn.

2 may not be enough. I put in about 20 in my 180L tank.
They also help to eat up leftover food at the bottom so reducing food for the snails. I was surprised that the MTS were totally gone, leaving many empty shells.

i crush snails manually with a rod.

Woa, don't kill the snails, they are also living beings like shrimps and fishes. manually remove them, then scoop up any floating eggs or suspiscious looking eggs.

You can dispose them live into garden, crushing them quite disgusting, somemore increase ammonia.

You can use the Assassin snail (Anentome helena) (technically a whelk)
Better than puffer IMO as they do not attack shrimps.

Bro, they can't catch healthy ones. My 1st try with them i saw a bee shrimp attacked, but i felt that it should have been a sickly one.

FYI: i am keeping the assasins now in another plastic tank, Any excess snail i deem will be fed there. (Pond snails mostly)

Ic, maybe that explains. 2 VS 20, its 10 times the effect.

i think you all miss the question.

If you want to get ride of snails...then first you have to shrink yourself.. then jump into fish tank.. then find a snail and lasso it... then jump on top and get ride. Wahahahahaha!

haha i solved my snail problem by buying a tiny tiny tiny puffer for less than a dollar at Seaview and he makan everything slowly and clean clean. And he is too small to eat shrimps. kena bully by the my big malayans

Yes, puffer is the best natural snail killer but need to remove once the job is done or small shrimplets will be its next meal Another one is clown loaches like botia sid which is very cute to put in tank, no need to remove

I just remove as many as I can when I see them, other than that just go easy on the feeding, do not over feed. I never find the need to use commerical medication.
