hi all, has anyone experienced tiny white worms burrowing in and out of their sponge filter? not the internal one of the hof but the one covering the water inlet such that the shrimplets don't get sucked in?

how does one get rid of them? kinda gross! for now, am using a chopstick to pick at it till it either breaks into pieces or if i manage to pull it out(about2-3mm long), i proceed to squish them till they DIE!!!!

Do they climb on the glass? If they do, they're planaria. If not, prob detritus worms.
Both are harmless but detritus worms are much easier to get rid of...in fact, I wish they would come back and clean my gravel for me!

i have them in my gravel too , feeding on the leftover food.
    probably due to over feeding.

Aside from manual removal and making a trap there are chemical methods.

You should try the first two methods, and if those fail look for Vermex of Flubenol.

I believe one of the bros was selling fenbendazole powder, a very effective deworming drug that does not harm other livestocks.

    Found it!

oh dear.. don't squish them into 2.. they will split into 2 worms.. u can try vermex.. 2-3 drops for a 2ft tank.. works for me and all crs are alright.. repeat every water topup and it should be ok..
