Anyone else getting unsolicited SMSes? Let us, know then we can take action.
I am getting unwanted sales offer from this number 91343439.
Offerring auto feeders, tanks/tubs and other accessories.
The person who send the sms claims that he is 'kenkenstomp' from AQ.
Would like to know if anyone else gets similar sales pitch via sms.
Its getting very irritating as I am overseas and all these sms is not just a waste of time but money as well.
May I appeal to the sender to stop it at once.
Thanks
Nicholas

Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
nicktc, did you sms him regarding anythings he's selling that time?

No, I did not.
I ignore the first message as I thought it may be a mistake.
But the second message read ...
" To many : 4 ur info, im kenkenstomp, user of aquaticquotient.
Selling my 6 tanks/tubs includin filters, acdc pumps, fishes lights, etc.
If u do not wish 2 receive my smses, pls respond wif "UNSUB".
Otherwise, I will try to juggle my work outside 2 sms u one by one aft tis. Tks"
The first sms was selling auto feeders.
yah , i receive that too. but for my case, i asked for water level alarm. maybe he mass send due to the load of items he have.

receiving sms in oversea is chargable? i don't think so, right?
anyway the 2nd sms looks like he is offering some services, still need to UNSUB from it! haha... ban him!

I never get that.
Perhaps i never deal with him nor contact him before.
UNSUB in message means he got that device of sorts, anyways better for mods to finish checking up before deciding.
eviltrain: you mentioned that you asked him?, if he used SMS sending device to "reply to all" just for 1 person then its very bad for him. Just like internal office emails/spams

yes, kenkenstomp sent me sms.
yes, i am interested to buy his auto feeder.
yes, he is being nice and asked if i want to buy more.
yes, i think he is a fine chap. we have dealt previously.
yes, there are two two ways to look at things - He is being nice and asked if i want to buy more or take over all his autofeeders. Or he is being irresponsible by asking if I want to buy more.

i guess that is his way for of clearing doubts with fellow brothers, mass send is better than dealing 1 by 1. unsub for him maybe is to delete off the contact. i met him before for a boyu water level alarm. not a bad chap.

I have not deal with him and I have not respond to any of his sales thread.
I do not know this person and his intention.
I am just being objective. Why do I need to 'UnSUB'
Does it mean that if I do not unsubscribe to his sms, I will continue to receive this type of unsolicited sales sms?
So now it becomes an opt out system?

I haven't received an sms from him, but I haven't really publicized my contact details on the forums either.
Singtel (my mobile provider) however does generate spam to my phone fairly often, they sell our phone numbers to private parties for advertising, and there is no way you can remove yourself from the lists.
I do occasionally receive SMSes from members here which I believe are mass smses but they are people I have dealt with prior and I don't mind so much.
This is something that whilst potentially annoying I don't feel is a serious issue (yet) and I don't think there is much we can do about it, considering our mobile carriers are engaging in the same practices themselves.
I have just seen kenkenstomp posting on uv filters. I recalled having responded to that sales, that probably explains how I ended up in his data base.
My sincere apologies to kenkenstomp as this posting may have created doubts in his integrity.
But my position is still the same, please do not send me unsolicited sale SMS.
lets conclude this thread.![]()
