Typically algae come with the plants and fishes you introduced into your tank. They thrive if your plants are unhealthy as a result of imbalance in some water parameters.
Can anyone advise what is the cause of brown algae on the leaves ??

Uncle chua, don't think about limiting algae by dosing less. You cannot limit algae as they are smaller in mass and require very little nutrient to thrive. It is always a lack of something that causes algae...like geoffrey said, why don't you list out your tank parameters for us to help you. []
