Hi all, have some used Amazonia II soil which I've broke it into much more fine pieces. About 60% is in powder form. I'm thinking of placing it at the front of the tank for fore ground plant as they have fine roots and need more compact soil to hold on to. Think i can still use it to set up a shrimp tank? I'm planning to mix with some new Amazonia II at the back for back ground plants. Please advice....

I would say it probably going to cloudy your water
But since it's used ADA soil, would it still cloud as much? In my opinion, I guess it would not... Anybody with experience on this?

Hi guys, just an update, it wasn't that cloudy. It was clear after few hours running on canister, just that the fine soil is not as nice as those in original form. But anyway, going to add in some mosses and CRS soon.
don't add in CRS so fast. keep track on the water parameter first.

Ok, roger that. Thanks...actually i've cycle the tank for a month + now...but havent have the time to check the parameter...
For those that broken down, just put at the bottom and cover with more aquasoil.

Ya, actually this part i did it wrongly. Should have stir the soil so that those fine ones will move to the bottom before i fill in the water. Anyway, now still considering if i want to add in more soil as i don't intend to spend too much on this project. Thanks for the advice...
Bro, make do with what you have. I am also using Amazonia II and they are great IMHO.
