    hey bros.. wondering if you guys could help me to indentify what type of plants can absorb or reduce level nitrate & other harmful substance in shrimp tanks!

    fast growing plants such as water sprites, duckweed, frogbits will all soak up nitrates.

    These are all very cheap plants you can buy from LFS.

    hi, is there any floating plants with big leaves and long root?

    hate those small bits of small leaves floating and mess up my tank

    watter lettuce seems to be a good choice... it can grow nice and big.. but the roots are abit disgusting!

    I'd recommend against putting duckweed in your tank, they are a great means of nitrate export, but when you decide you no longer want to spend time scooping them out every week, it's almost impossible to totally remove them from tanks that are 2ft and larger.

    Hornwort / Cabomba, frogbits, water lettuce and water sprites are a much better option.
