impressive riccia... I like it..
the left hand corner feels empty, the background of the center portion is empty too
Hi guys, this is my first real attempt of a planted tank. Its about a month old after suffering algae infestation during the early stage. Pls do throw in some comments on the plants selected, setup, landscaping improvement, etc. anything! I felt that the centre portion is a bit to empty,. hope to have some suggestion.
The plants used is as described in the photo galleries. Fishes includes assorted discus (my reserved team for experimentation), glowlight tetra, rummy nose tetra, otos, yamato shrimps, a few feeder prawns (is it called malayan shrimps?)and a solitary yellow puffer fish. Pls check up my gallery. Hope to load up more photos in due time.

Thanx 4 commenting. I felt the same way too. Probably will add more plants in future when my budget permits. I'm still growing up my balansae, diandra & xmoss in a seperate 1.5ft tank. will add up in the near future. Cheerio!----------------

Nice setup, been a long time since I've seen a lush bed of riccia.
If it's the open space concept that you had in mind, a x'mas wall would look nice.

Nice attempt, but if you really do a xmas moss wall, your wall will sooner or later stick with ricca that you may not want. The ricca stuck to my java moss wall last time, had a real busy time removing the ricca from the wall every water change.
hello fazlee,
nice tank. i think you got your right and left wrong.

hi fazlee, nice lawn of riccia. But I foresee heavy maintenance of this lawn as wouldn't your discus mess it up everytime they feed? Also do the discus have any shade from the strong lighting (I am assuming since you have a green lawn of riccia)?
Overall, besides my concern with the discus, very nice tank that is soothing to the senses.![]()
How does your Mayaca fluvalitis grow? Slow as well?

Juggler's tanks
wah! not bad man! find the left side of e tank should be more bushy than will be fantastic bro!![]()
Hi guys/gals;
Thanx for all the comments. My setup, i believed, is still in the infant state. Still in the process of improving as it depends much on my pocket.[:] As for bro juggler, the Mayaca fluvalitis did grow rather fast as compared to other plants. I started with 3 pots, and i've already trimmed it once as it grows near to the surface. I failed on the blyxia japonica though, i removed the remains as it started to decay badly. same story for my lotus, one by one the leave starts to rod. any idea how to rectify the problem?
As for the riccia lawn, it requires a bit of maintainance in a sense that u need to scoope those floating bits avery few days or so. I believe it is because of my discus digging through for food. If the tank contains only the tetras, maintainnace requirement should be reduced significantly. Phew! never write for so long before. Keep those comments coming! Cheerio![]()

hi
the riccia lawn looks good; until the left foreground where it ends abruptly. how abotu softening the edge with hairgrass? also, u have a nice triagular composition with the riccia nad the wood, but the stem plants on the right kind of detracts from it a little
just my initial impression.![]()
