    Dear proz,

got this question from my fren... he's intending to do a 2ft tank, to keep clown fish, well ( all about nemo).

the question is if it's ok to keep them alone by themselves or is the liverock absolutely essential...?

last question... how much would an anemone cost? n is it light demanding?

    merci beaucoup,
    albert

live rock is good to have but if u dun wan, it is ok.. but my advice is, get some for the 2ft tank

yes.. it needs at least 9500 Kelvin intensity. an anemone can range from S$10-50.. depending on color and size
similarly, do read up on the hobby first by investing in a book or something like that, if not, u can try reading from the Aquatic FAQ, where it mentioned abt starting up a marine aquarium. Most imptly, the cycling time, that have to take note.

DIY might help but there is only so much that u can DIY.. for a 2ft tank, it is better to get a canister to do the filtering, skimmer is basic equipment. LR is now abt $10/kg.. to do up a simple w/o corals 2ft tank with 1-2 piece of LR, it can cost up to few hundred dollars depending on what u wanna get.. but filter cannot save on it.. get a good one.. lights will depend on what u wan to keep.. initial setup is definitely high.. can't be helped. if not, decide on what u want to get first or keep then slowly upgrade, that is cheaper in short term but more expensive in the long run.
