Blue Ram - Female ??

Female?
I bought the two because of the pink belly.

But when put them into the tank, these two keep getting chased by the only Ram (previous occupier which is a male) in the tank.
Is this normal ?

yup pink belly are females

look at their top dosoal fins. they are shorter than your other ram.

Hi,

Thank you for the confirmation. However, the male ram seems to be bullying them a lot. Chasing them around the tank. Worried the new occupants might just get too stressed out.

Guess the chasing around is very common? Expect more chases and pecking in the months to come!

I know the ramming is common but have not seen the chasing before in the shop. Guess maybe the space is too constraint plus so many inside the tank of the shop. Thus limited space to chase.

So this means that the females are not bullied? I was hoping they can be friends and perhaps produce some offsprings. Haha.

I bought from Y618.

But Seaview also sells them, just that they are not the balloon typed and I dont think there are females in the tank.

At seaview, saw many young rams but could not see any females.

When the ram puts the pellet into its mouth, chew and then phew it out with many smaller fragments, does it mean that they do not eat at all? Or they would have eaten some and throw the rest out?
