Shrimp is food for all kinda fish or creature living in water... as long as can fit in the mouth. Even if the adult shrimp can't fit in the fish mouth...the baby shrimplet will definitely be gone into the fishes tummy. Unless...you have no intention on breeding them..
You might beReferring to Half-beaks. Not sure if they will eat shrimp but they hardly (if ever) go down to the substrate level.

even so your shrimp will surely but hardly swim to the surface for some reason and your half break will eat it if it is hungry
