Do you have any pictures of it? Bloated stomach could mean a couple of things but you could try some epsom salt as a bath.
1 Tablespoon per gallon of water from the tank and then place the fish in the solution for about 10 - 15 minutes.
hope this helps
Do you have a Quarantine tank? If Yes, transfer him out. If no I suggest get one.![]()
This is my practised..
1:Throw extra air-pump(keep it well oxygen as medicine may be added later)
2:A small driftwood.(keep the pleco feel calm, take cover etc.. But not too big as you need to observe the fellow)
3:Check if he is poo-ing well.(solid waste or string, white colour? etc..)
4:I'll add half of what's label with Anti-Internal Bacterial on the 1st few days. Go easy with it.
5:No feeding for at least 3 days or till I'm comfortable he is getting better.
Keep us update.!![]()

Hi All,
Kindly refer pictures (sorry for poor quality)
poo is stuck at the "***" there and it's like gel state...![]()
epsom salt should do the trick hopefully.
i had the similiar experience with L273
the stomach bulged so badly ...
tried epsom salt... no good
tetracycline ... no good
someone recommend to try some yellow powder labelled as "centracyn" i was desperate and have nothing to lose (fish was sick for almost 2 weeks)
surprisingly the fish looks better in 3 days after treatment, after 7days it looks normal. after another 2 weeks quarantine ... i place it back to the main tank.
Internal bacteria/parasite causing the bloat. Anal should be swollen too if i am not wrong. Looks pretty severe or late stage infection. Lost a L46 to the same disease before.
Was recommended this powder treatment called miracle baby MQ-4 Super Dewormer I. Friend used it to treat his L190 with a swollen anal and bloat and it worked. You can buy it from C328. Its said to contain a chemical that is found in anti-biotics.

miracle baby mq-4 is probably metronidazole or one of its derivative. You may try that in a quarantine tank. You don't want other bacteria to be immune to it.
The other option is to give it a methylene blue bath for 5 - 10 minutes. DON'T overdose on that even if its a bath.
Sometimes bloat may also be caused by indigestion. Epsom salt bath alone will help.
Bro noname777, how are you? All of my 2 pieces of L273 have died, without knowing the reason behind it.
L273 has that famous reputation preceding them bro
